Dip has a pretty unique history and didn’t start out in life as the product we all know and love today. In actuality, dip’s roots are in another form of smokeless tobacco, dry snuff! Dip is a truly American product that uses only American grown tobaccos but back in the late 1700’s, oral tobacco wasn’t the popular way to enjoy it. Dry snuffs or nasal snuffs imported from Europe were all the rage back then and were really only used by the well to do types due to the cost. But everyday Americans wanted a form of dry tobacco they could use and thus American dipping tobacco was born. |
